佐柳島というと、空飛ぶ猫の島、飛び猫の島など躍動的な猫が多く、プロ、アマ問わず多くの猫写真家たちが訪れる島です。交通も、比較的行きやすく、猫島入門としてもうってつけの島です。集落は、本浦と長崎の2つがあり、徒歩で20分程度離れております。船はどちらも寄港しますが、両方よらないケースもあるので、ご注意を。また、土日は隣の真鍋島へのフェリーも1便出ており、真鍋島も猫島として有名なので、ダブルで行く人も多いです。島の中央部にはネコノシマホステルという廃校を利用した簡易宿舎もあります。
先述しましたが、佐柳島の猫たちは活発で、港の防波堤や集落の塀を器用に行き来しております。アクティブで野性味あふれる猫と、瀬戸内海の美しい景色を堪能できます。

Traffic is relatively easy to reach, making it an ideal island for getting started with Nekojima. There are two villages, Honura and Nagasaki, which are about 20 minutes away on foot. Both ships call at the port, but be aware that there are cases where both are not. Also, on Saturdays and Sundays, there is one ferry to the neighboring Manabe Island, and Manabe Island is also famous as Nekojima, so many people go by double. In the central part of the island, there is a simple dormitory using a closed school called Nekonoshima Hostel.

田代島（宮城県） Tashirojima (Miyagi Prefecture)
田代島の基本情報から
面積 3.14㎢
人口 70人くらい
交通 石巻中央港から船で40分から50分（港まではタクシーか結構歩きます。駐車場あり）
猫密度 集落や猫神社付近に多数
猫島がブームになった発端の島。田代島から猫島ブームが始まり、青島やほかの島々へ猫島ブームが広まりました。
田代島には北の大泊港、南の仁斗田港の2港があります。両方の港を歩いても大した距離はなく、どちらを使っても問題ありません。
猫は、大泊、仁斗田の港付近の集落と、港の間にある猫神社。マンガアイランドと呼ばれる宿泊施設付近にたくさんいます。
猫を観光の目玉に備えたこともあり、比較的猫にやさしく、野良猫と飼い猫の中間である、地域猫の属性を持っております。そのため、人懐っこく、甘えん坊な猫が多かったです。

The island where Nekojima became a boom. The Cat Island boom started from Tashiro Island, and the Cat Island boom spread to Qingdao and other islands.
There are two ports on Tashirojima: Odomari Port in the north and Nitoda Port in the south. There is not much distance walking both ports and there is no problem using either.
The cats are Odomari, a village near the port of Nitoda, and a cat shrine between the ports. There are many nearby accommodations called Manga Island.
Since cats have been prepared as a tourist attraction, they are relatively cat-friendly and have the attributes of regional cats, which are intermediate between stray cats and domestic cats. For that reason, there were many friendly and spoiled cats.

青島（愛媛県） Aoshima (Ehime Prefecture)
青島を紹介する前にまずは基本的なデータから。
面積 0.49㎡
人口 10人くらい
交通 長浜港より船で35分 詳しくは大洲市のウェブサイトを参照
JR伊予長浜駅から長浜港まで歩いて5分くらいなので、公共交通機関で比較
的行きやすいです。
猫密度 めちゃくちゃ高い
猫の島として一躍有名になった、猫島の火付けブームとなったというべき愛媛県の青島。100メートル四方くらいに猫が多分200匹くらいいました。ただ、2019年に猫に去勢手術を施したとありましたので、多分徐々に減っていくと思われます。
島民も10人程度で、高齢者がほとんどです。島自体が無人島になりつつあります。行くのであれば、今しかありません。
猫はとな猫が多かった印象。みんな丸々太って居てますが、狭いエリアにたくさんいるせいか、若干ストレスがたまってる様子です。

ここ数年、猫島がブームになっていて、観光地でもない離島に猫目当てでやってくる人が増えました。
でも、離島に行くってどうなんだろうか、難しくないのだろうか。交通はどうするの、どんな感じで過ごすの、本当に猫に出会えるのなどたくさんの疑問や質問があると思います。
昔から、離島にはいろいろ通ってはおりますので、アクセス、見所、猫の多さ、などを伝えられたらと思います。なるべく新しい情報を書きたいのですが、行った時の状況なのであしからず。
