青島（愛媛県） Aoshima (Ehime Prefecture)
青島を紹介する前にまずは基本的なデータから。

JR伊予長浜駅から長浜港まで歩いて5分くらいなので、公共交通機関で比較
的行きやすいです。
猫密度 めちゃくちゃ高い
猫の島として一躍有名になった、猫島の火付けブームとなったというべき愛媛県の青島。100メートル四方くらいに猫が多分200匹くらいいました。ただ、2019年に猫に去勢手術を施したとありましたので、多分徐々に減っていくと思われます。
島民も10人程度で、高齢者がほとんどです。島自体が無人島になりつつあります。行くのであれば、今しかありません。
猫はとな猫が多かった印象。みんな丸々太って居てますが、狭いエリアにたくさんいるせいか、若干ストレスがたまってる様子です。

Cat density is insanely high
Qingdao in Ehime Prefecture, which became famous as a cat island, should have become a burning boom for Cat Island. There were probably about 200 cats around 100 meters square. However, since there was a castration operation on the cat in 2019, it will probably gradually decrease.
There are about 10 islanders and most of them are elderly. The island itself is becoming an uninhabited island. If you are going, there is only now.
まずは、伊予長浜港です。船は30人程度しか乗れません。休日は、満席になることもあるそうなので、特に第2便に乗る予定の人は早めに行きましょう。

青島は、猫と人がどうするべきかを考えるところでもあります。もともと多い猫が、観光客の増加により、爆発的に増加。高齢者の住民たちではそれを支えられなくなりました。島民も少なく、近い将来無人島になるであろう青島は猫を置いてけぼりにするわけにもいきません。猫と触れ合いながら、将来的にはどうするべきなのか考えさせられる島でした。
