沖縄には奧武島と呼ばれる島はいくつかありますが、猫の島は沖縄県南城市にある島です。沖縄本島から橋でつながっているので、離島という感じは全くしません。島は猫と天ぷらの島として有名なので、行ったことある人も多いでしょう。沖縄の猫は南下、やっぱりおおらかな感じですが、てんぷらを食べていると、やっぱりうじゃうじゃ寄ってきます。
飼い猫以外は、野良猫なので、エサはやらないようにと看板出ているので、地域猫としては扱われていないようです。

There are several islands in Okinawa called Oujima, but Cat Island is an island in Nanjo City, Okinawa Prefecture. Since it is connected by a bridge from the main island of Okinawa, it does not feel like a remote island. The island is famous as a cat and tempura island, so many people have been there. The Okinawan cats are quite relaxed in the south, but if you eat tempura, you'll come closer.
Other than domestic cats, they are stray cats, so they do not seem to be treated as regional cats because they have a sign to avoid food.
